2006 Results
Displayyourdisc.com trophies, wood replicas of actual golf discs,
were awarded to the winners. 2nd & 3rd place was
awarded premium golf discs. The winners were:
- Regular Lake Stevens player Steve "Cajun" Kent won the Men’s
Advanced (for experienced, higher level players) with the best two
rounds in the tournament. On a hot day in which many regulars
struggled, Caj was on fire! He improved over his 2004 performance by
20 strokes!
- Regular Lake Stevens player Steve Rolling won the Men’s Advanced
Masters (experienced players 40 and over, a.k.a., "the crusties")
with a two solid rounds. He improved over his 2004 performance by 17
stokes!
- Christopher Pratt won a very tightly contested Men’s
Intermediate (for less experienced, mid-level players) division by a
single stroke!
- Spencer Perry won the combined Men’s Novice/Juniors (for
inexperienced players just learning the game). Spencer also won
Novice in 2004, though hasn’t played regularly, and so was placed in
Novice again. He actually has improved greatly from a +32 to a +17
this year. It’s difficult to categorize players in a one off
tournament like this, and the results can seem inconsistent. The top
three - Spencer, Junior Josh Armstrong, and Jerry Couzin (in town
visiting a friend, only plays about once a year) – all beat the
entire Intermediate division!
- Caitlin McLellan was the only entrant in the Women’s division,
playing as a novice. Though she had no straight up competition, she
was 19 strokes better than the 2004 Women’s winner.

Special Awards
Ace Pot
The entry included a $50
pot to go to anyone hitting a hole in one. No one did, so a special
one shot per player playoff was held to make the approximate
100-foot shot. No one made it, so it was awarded to Brian Anderson
for landing closest to the basket.
Closest to the Pin
Closest to the Pin (CTP) awards were given for best drives by
division on certain holes during the each round (W= white, B = Blue
tee.

Dolf! Basket Awards
The Lake Stevens course has some of the most unusual baskets of
any disc golf course. Each is a unique configuration and they’re
very "challenging". Some were more "challenged" than others,
including some very good, experienced golfers who were "challenged"
to tears. In the spirit of fun, for putts that would have likely
gone in the a regular disc catcher basket, but were
rejected by a bar, blocking chains, or flew through a void where a
regular basket’s chain would have caught the disc, were shots were
tracked as "Dolf!"s in honor of course and basket designer Dr. Fred
Chittenden. Those most "challenged" were recognized with prize
discs.
